On the Outside

Has there ever been a series that you read and thought was okay, but you just didn’t get why people are so fanatical about it? I’m that way with the Hunger Games trilogy. I see posts and you tube clips all over the net and everyone’s so excited. I certainly don’t want to spoil their fun or anything, but I wish I could participate. It started as a strong story, the second two books never matched the first, in my opinion.

It feels like there is a party going on and everyone was invited except for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wheel of Time is like that for me. I thought the concept for Hunger Games was great but the execution not so much. I great writer could have really killed with it.

I haven't read it yet, but I want to. So I feel like there's even more of a party going on that I am not a part of. I just haven't gotten around to borrowing the book from my mom yet…

I'm with you on The Hunger Games. The first book was great, and the series had a lot of promise, but the next two didn't quite live up to it. Oh, and The Chronicles of Narnia, too: When I re-read that series last year, to say I was underwhelmed would be an understatement.
