Clearly there was an uptick in blog posting earlier this year. Three times in as many months! In an age where blog posting is effectively dead if you donโ€™t have a platform (or if it isnโ€™t your primary focus), weโ€™ll call that a surprising increase in activity. And thenโ€ฆNOTHING! Until today. The cool thing is, Iโ€™ve been gone because I started a new novel. Granted, I didnโ€™t start it until August, but I started. Iโ€™ve written 35,000 words in the last couple months. And given the three years previous were almost entirely academic papers (aside from an attempted rewrite of THE TRIAD SOCIETY) weโ€™ll call this a win.

Iโ€™ve been working on THE SEVENTH SACRIFICE, which Iโ€™ve false started on multiple times. First it was wrong because I had used this pseudo-Austrian people. Then I moved to a Mongolian/Chinese/Japanese blend, heavy on the Mongolian, and that fit better, but I had the wrong character. This time, Iโ€™ve made a secondary character the primary character and itโ€™s finally working out. I feel strongly that this one is going to continue on to completion. Iโ€™ve expanded the series to seven, though, so there is a TON of work to come yet after this first draft (revision, second revision, third revision?, sequel draft, etc.).
